A Big Decisionらせ
| * This was written just one week after the catastrophe of 3.11. This morning I made a big decision to myself. Even though we have endless sad news, bad news, and heart crushing news, even though our nuclear reactors might face serious condition soon, I decided to have as much fun for myself in this morning. That means I decided to go for FREE SKIING. As soon as chair lifts moved, I was on one of them. Yesterday's wet snow turned into real powder in middle of the night, and snow was so light and fluffy. There was more than 30cm of fresh snow everywhere. First 30 minutes, I was almost alone. So I skied in powder covered mogul field. Feeling how lucky I was, being a skier. Then ski instructors started appearing on the slope. Much more numbers of instructors than normal days started skiing on the hill. I guessed that because we expected very few lessons, many instructors had free time for themselves. We lost most of our business, and we are going to lose it for quite long time. We naturally get together and start skiing together. I, myself, run a Freestyle ski school. There were members of Basic ski school, members of Alpine racing school, Snowboard school, and Lifts' staffs. We started skiing, and Snowboarding, together. We have never skied with so many instructors and ski area staffs together, as far as I know for the last 15 years. To begin with, we tried to be serious, concentrating into our ski skills. But when one hour passed, every skiers were smiling, forgot the crisis we were in, just for a while. We knew each other for long time, but most instructors，and lift staffs had never skied together like this before. Feeling stronger inside, and closer to each other, we skied for another hour. It was great experience for everybody. And it hit me like enlightenment that I am so lucky to be a skier.  |
