Private Lessons by English speaking Japanese Ski Instructors

We can only accept Private Ski Lessons for the 2026 ski season.

We can accept any level of skiers from beginners to top class competitors.

Please note that the lesson price will not be changed by the number of skiers in your private group. It is best that the skill levels of skiers are similar, though. If the level of the skiers varies too much, we recommend you to have multiple ski instructors.

There are 2 different lesson prices based on the levels of instructors.

I’ve been teaching skiing in Hakuba for 10 years to many guests from all over the world.
I started skiing when I was 2 or 3 years old. I was born in Osaka, but I started going to Hakuba since I was a high school student. Since then, I have been fascinated by Hakuba.

I've competed in many technical skiing competitions in Japan, and now I'm obsessed with back country skiing in powder snow.

I learned English from a British teacher at a catholic school and I lived in the United States for 2 years. Of course, I didn't forget to ski in the US!
After I came back from the US, I started working in an English conversation school in Tokyo.
I have long time experience teaching children's English, so I am good at interacting with children. Good at teaching Beginners and Intermediates adults, too.

I often hike up the ridges around Hakuba to find exciting skiing on my time off and enjoy hiking with snowshoes on the snow field.

In the summertime, I guide people to the Japanese Alps as a licensed mountain guide of Nagano.

It is my great pleasure to teach not only the people in Japan, but also the people from all over the world about the charms of Hakuba throughout the season.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in Hakuba!

Hello, everybody!
I’m Naomi Yumoto. I'm from Osaka, Japan, I was born and raised there.
I have lived in Nagano prefecture for almost 30 years, enjoying skiing and teaching English.
I've been teaching English to wide age group from 3-year-old children to their 60's, 70's and 80's for more than 26 years. It's really fun to meet new prople.
My first ski experience was when I was 13 years old. Skiing has been my favorite sport since then. I even moved to Hakuba to ski! I taught skiing for a couple of years right after moving here.
I am good at teaching Beginners and Intermedeates.
I love English, skiing and traveling as well.
It would be wonderful if I could help you make your stay in Hakuba more enjoyable by teaching skiing in English. I can't wait to see you!

I was born in 1976 in Ritto City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
I grew up in a peaceful rural environment, spending my childhood playing baseball, soccer, and fishing, often staying out until dark.

I first encountered skiing during an elementary school YMCA camp.
Later, I spent three years attending high school in Hokkaido, where winters were filled with daily bus trips to a local ski resort. With the guidance of supportive ski resort staff and instructors who recognized my passion, I honed my ski skills.

During my university years, I studied as an exchange student at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, where I mastered the Chinese language.
After gaining professional work experience in Japan, I traveled to Canada on a working holiday and spent one winter season at Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Ontario.

My approach to skiing changed significantly after starting a family and beginning to teach my children to ski 13 years ago.
Through teaching my children, I came to appreciate both the challenges of instruction and the importance of refining my own technique.

Today, I am dedicated to sharing the joy of skiing with people from around the world, offering lessons in Japanese, English, and Chinese.
